Zakery’s Bridge

Our second book focuses on immigrant and refugee children, featuring nine stories from kids who share their experiences of moving from their home countries to the midwest. The book’s proceeds were donated to CultureALL, which works to raise cultural awareness with kids at schools. Based on the foundation laid by From a Growing Community, this book set the stage for Community Press program at Drake University, where students from writing, design, and photography classes collaborate to create books for local non-profit organizations.

The layout samples below show the textured, hand-made aesthetic, with a color scheme that changes to match the landscape of the different countries each story visits.
